It was a long work week. We did not feel like going out so we ordered in from China Fun located at 3025 Ashley Town Center Dr #101, Charleston, SC 29414

It was an early dinner again but we were both famished. From their website, China Fun I ordered two combos, one was the C10. Sweet & Sour Chicken or Pork Combination Plate (Chicken), served with pork fried rice and an egg roll for $13.25. The other C14. General Tso’s Chicken Combination Plate, described as "Hot and spicy". All combination plates are served with pork fried rice and an egg roll. This was also only $13.25.

After the order was placed we were shocked that it was made and delivered in roughly 30 minutes. The familiar smells filled our kitchen as we tore into the bags to find our favorites along with generous packets of soy sauce, duck sauce, and hot mustard sauce. There was a small delivery charge of only $3.50 but we were glad to pay it given the speedy delivery - and they use in-house delivery, no third party.

The combos are not delivered in the traditional paper pails but large, sturdy white plastic containers with clear lids so you can preview the contents and hand out versus opening everyone's food to determine which meal goes to who. The containers also appear to be re-usable.

The Sweet & Sour Chicken had a nice golden brown color, had a nice crunch, and was very tasty. The red colored sweet and sour sauce complimented the chicken very well. It has a mild sweetness and very little to no sour taste. It is much more tame than grocery store Sweet and Sour sauce, like Kikkoman. The portion size was extremely generous. My fiancée was not able to finish the meal with enough left over for a decent snack at a later time. The meal also came with a large eggroll, which was fried to a golden brown color, had a great crunch and filled with a tasty cabbage mixture. The eggroll itself could stand alone as its' own dish. She did not use the complimentary duck sauce and enjoyed the eggroll plain.

The General Tso's Chicken dish was a nice surprise. It was very tasty with moments of incredible heat between bites as the dish had many red hot chili peppers camouflaged throughout it. The red gravy-like sauce was thick, sweet. This gravy balanced the heat well. The chicken itself were in random sizes, clustered together from the breading that seemed to go very well with the remainder of the ingredients which included two large pieces of broccoli that still maintained a healthy bit of crunch. This dish was extremely good but I am one who enjoys spicy food. The heat from the chili peppers might be too much for some. For my eggroll, I rotated using duck sauce and hot mustard between bites. I also enjoyed the eggroll but probably not as much as my fiancée. Still, it was extremely tasty, hearty.

Overall, we give China Fun delivery a 5 out of 5 rating on a scale of 0 - 5, where 0 = we will never order again and 5 = we can't wait to give them our money again.
